BREAKAWAY Sailing Camp
A Performance Sailing Adventure

Breakaway Sailing Camps consist of a two day sailing and learning adventure for kids or adults. Each camp is tailored to the age level of the sailors and is limited to a crew of four so you'll receive excellent small group instruction.

You'll learn to sail aboard a J/80 keelboat and discover the thrills of sailing a sport boat. You'll learn the value and importance of working together as a team, and gain a variety of sailing experience. Sailing together as a crew is the ultimate team building experience and you'll enjoy one of the best summer experiences ever!

Schedule and Curriculum

DAY ONE
9:00 – 12:30
On-the-water boat orientation, sailing basics instruction and review

  • Seamanship

  • Wind and Weather

    12:30 – 1:30
    Drop anchor, bag lunch onboard and swim break

    1:30 – 4:30
    Upwind practice

  • Sail trim

  • Teamwork
  • Practice at all positions

    DAY TWO
    9:00 – 12:30
    Reaching and Running

  • Spinnaker Sets and Douses

  • Practice at all positions

    12:30 – 1:30
    Drop anchor, bag lunch onboard and swim break

    Racing in the bay

    Cost: 150.00 per crewmember (minimum of 2, maximum of 4)

    Crewmembers provide their own lunch and beverages

    Approved PFD required at all times.
